White Star Caladiums

    Heart to Heart™ Caladium White Star is a beautiful lance-leaved (strap) variety. Excellent in all pot sizes, White Star will have better pot habit with de-eying. Similar to White Wing in size and habit it is much faster to sprout and finish and has broader leaves. White Star has a white background with light pink main veins and dark green border – leaves are thick. Mature leaves may have a few pink spots. This caladium variety was developed by Dr. Robert Hartman, CEO of Classic Caladiums. All bulbs are de-eyed and painted.

Celebration

  Celebration is a 2012 white fancy-leaved introduction.  Celebration has white windows that contrast nicely with its red veins and green margins, Celebration consistently scored well in the Costa Farms trials in Miami. Celebration is upright in habit, intermediate in stature and makes nice 6″-10” pots with de-eyeing. Celebration prefers partially (up to 6 hrs) sunny locations in the landscape. Celebration was a 2013 Winner when introduced at the UGA Field Trials as a “Plant of Distinction.”
  A Classic innovation, this caladium was developed by our CEO, Dr. Robert Hartman.

Dawn to Dusk

    Introduced here online in 2013, our Heart to Heart™ Dawn to Dusk (formally known as Creamsickle) caladiums have been popular with our customers since day one. This unique beauty will show its colors all season long in the landscape or patio planter. Dawn to Dusk will show well – all bulbs are de-eyed and painted.
This caladium was developed by our CEO, Dr. Robert Hartman.

Caribbean Coral

    A new caladium from Classic’s CEO, Dr. Robert Hartman, this new and aptly named caladium variety is equally happy in pots, planters, baskets or the landscape. As an intermediate strap caladium, Caribbean Coral can grow to 12″ – 14″ tall, prefers up to 6 hrs of partial sun to shade with smaller size matte leaves. Caribbean Coral orders will arrive de-eyed and painted.
    Caladium HEART TO HEART™ Caribbean Coral was voted one of the top ten Cincinnati Zoo’s Best plants in 2020 plant trials! It sported a rare and beautiful coral pink color. It was planted in part shade and performed strong and healthy until the end of September.

Chinook

A new salmon pink caladium from Classic’s CEO, Dr. Robert Hartman, Chinook scored high in trials across the US for its unique color and good plant habit. Chinook makes a good 4″ and larger pot or hanging basket and is a great border plant in shaded landscape beds. Chinook also adds a great look when used in combination with other plants in combination and patio planters.

Carousel

    Caladium ‘Carousel’ is a 2015 white fancy-leaved introduction. Although similar to our recent introduction Celebration with white windows, red veins and green margins, Carousel is shorter and more highly branched. This habit makes it an excellent choice for smaller pots and combination/patio pots. Carousel prefers partially sunny locations in the landscape but can tolerate up to 6 hours of sun. Carolyn Whorton

    Carolyn Whorton Caladiums – a lovely pink variety that has been a staple in many gardens – works well in shade to sun tolerant. Carolyn is popular in planters, pots and baskets. Carolyn Wharton was the wife of Frank Wharton of Tarpon Springs, Florida, a made caladium hybridizing a hobby since first seeing the caladiums in 1927.

Candyland

    Candyland is flecked with pink spots and pink or white main veins. In your landscape it can take full sun and reaches heights of 14”-16”. This frilly strap caladium shows very well in a pot or imaginative patio container with a taller caladium or flowers for accent. This variety thrives well in up to 12 hrs of full sun to full shade – a very hardy caladium. This popular patented caladium was introduced by our Classic CEO, Dr. Robert Hartman.

Candidum Senior

    The white of whites – Candidum Senior caladiums are bright white fancy caladiums that grow well under shade or 6 hours of sun. Candidum Senior grows large leaves, 10 to 12 inches and feature prominent green main veins and subtle tracings of the small veins. We have developed Allure to replace our older Candidum Senior stock, you may experience better results with this new caladium.

Burning Heart

    Heart to Heart™ Caladium Burning Heart is a bronze fancy leaf variety with pink to orange spots and represents a completely new color for caladiums. Before we release any variety we send out bulbs for our extensive field trial program partners in universities and commercial growers around the country – Burning Heart scored very high in these tests. Burning Heart is tall in height, grows quickly and makes a great container plant. All bulbs are de-eyed and painted.
    It’s unique color is similar to the 2015 Pantone color of the year and compliments almost any other plant in patio or combination planters. Burning Heart works well in landscapes either in the shade or full sun. Award Winner at the UGA Field Trials, 2016 – Plants of Distinction. This variety is a creation of Dr. Robert Hartman, Classic CEO.
    Burning Heart was also honored with an Award of Merit in the Oregon Association of Nurseries Farwest Show in August of 2021.

Heart and Soul

    Heart to Heart™ Heart and Soul is a strap leaf variety with a white center, green border and red spots. The white center is often flushed pink. Heart and Soul would remind you of the old variety Gingerland, but has a shorter pot crop time and much better pot habit. Heart and Soul, when de-eyed works well in pot sizes 4″ and larger and is a great component to a patio or combination pot. Heart and Soul can tolerate 6-8 hours of morning sun and therefore useful in the landscape for its versatility.  Heart and Soul scored “exceptionally well” in sun tolerance at an 2018 Orlando theme park bedding trial. All bulbs are de-eyed and painted.

Heart’s Delight

    Our strap Heart to Heart™ Heart’s Delight prefers full sun to shade. In a pot, planter or basket on the patio, Heart’s Delight is pure eye candy. Leaves tend to go to a darker red center as they mature. All bulbs are de-eyed and painted.

Lemon Blush

    Heart to Heart™ Lemon Blush, with a rose red center and wide chartreuse margin is a new look in caladiums. Leaves are thin translucent parchment and delicately veined. Great for pots and the landscape, the wide chartreuse margin makes Lemon Blush a great companion plant accenting anything it is planted with. Lemon Blush favors partial sun to shade. All bulbs are de-eyed and painted. This fancy caladium variety was developed by Classic CEO, Dr. Robert Hartman and introduced in 2014.

Mesmerized

    Heart to Heart™ Mesmerized caladiums are a recent fancy caladium introduction that was 7 years in the making and offers some pretty sassy & freckled eye candy to gardeners and landscapers. The deep pink leaves with just a splash of light green here and there for accent. All bulbs are de-eyed and painted.

Rose Glow

    Our hardy Heart to Heart™ Rose Glow Caladium is a fancy-leaf hybrid that features a lively pink center with a wide green border.  In the landscape it tolerates up to 8 hrs of morning sun and reaches heights of 14”-16”. A great centerpiece in a pot or basket. All Proven Winners caladium varieties are de-eyed and painted. Another lovely creation from our Classic Caladiums CEO, Dr. Robert Hartman. All bulbs are de-eyed and painted.

Scarlet Flame Caladiums

    Heart to Heart™ Scarlet Flame – an exclusive strap leaf caladium variety with a great pot habit. For pots and baskets, you will find this new caladium a fast grower and a real eye-pleaser. Scarlet Flame will tolerate full sun with thick frilly leaves. Bulbs are de-eyed and painted. Another patented Classic creation from Classic Caladium’s CEO, Dr. Robert Hartman.

Bottle Rocket

    Heart to Heart™ Bottle Rocket, a stand-out fancy leaf variety with a bright red center and primary veins, white panes and green margin is a creation of our Classic CEO and breeder, Dr. Robert Hartman. Bottle Rocket is intermediate to tall in height and upright in habit. It is happy in the sun and performs well in pot sizes 6″ and up. Though slower than many fancy leaved varieties the wait is worth it. All bulbs are de-eyed and painted.
    Bottle Rocket is unique among caladiums with similar patterns in that the pattern retains its distinctness many yards from the planting. Bottle Rocket was a 2018 Winner at the UGA Trial Gardens as “Best of the Best” and a “People’s Choice Winner”.

Bombshell

  Bombshell is a recent exclusive introduction from our Classic CEO Bob Hartman’s breeding program. Bombshell is a beautiful intense red colored fancy-leaved caladium variety with deep almost blue-green margins. Bombshell prefers partial sun (up to 8 hrs in southern zones) to shade. Look for a neat & compact habit, does very well in the landscape or containers.
