Lance Whorton

This variety is NOT currently in production at Classic Caladiums, LLC.
Dark pink blotches with green margins and red veins. Makes a nice colorful pot plant with dominant eye removal but will not tolerate overcrowding.

Modern Art

This variety is NOT currently in production at Classic Caladiums, LLC
Caladium Modern Art is a white strap (lance) leaf variety introduced in 2013. Similar to Gingerland’s red spots Modern Art is covered with interveinal burnt orange spots and splotches. Modern Art is useful in 4” and larger pots. It will tolerate 6 to 8 hours of morning in the landscape and is tall in size. Modern Art works well in patio or combination pots. This caladium variety was developed by Dr. Robert Hartman, CEO of Classic Caladiums.

Rio Red

Rio Red looks like a slice of watermelon at the family picnic, including the seeds! This Classic strap variety is a deep red and makes beautiful “crimson rivers” in any landscape. A wonderful caladium for pots 6” and up including baskets and combination patio planters. De-eyeing improves habit in smaller pots. Rio Red tolerates 6-8 hours of morning sun. Rio Red has dark stems. This new introduction for the 2015 season was created by Classic’s President, Dr. Robert Hartman.

Summer Pink Caladiums

This variety is no longer in production at Classic
Summer Pink caladiums are a recent introduction from the University of Florida. Lovely pink main veins with the blush of a white center makes this a pretty picture for any landscape.

Sizzle

This variety in NOT in production at Classic.

A UF variety, Sizzle is a nice pink strap variety introduced by the University of Florida. Sizzle has be known to withstand full sun and looks great in combo and patio pots and also makes a nice landscape plant.

Sweet Carolina

This variety is currently not in production at Classic Caladiums, LLC

Sweet Carolina is a fancy-leaf variety with a mottled light (chartreuse) and dark green background with bright pink spots. An ideal center plant for a large patio or combination planter. Sweet Carolina’s real strength lies in its use in the landscape as it can take full sun and reaches heights of more than 36”. In the full sun the light green background intensifies to a bright chartreuse. This caladium variety was developed by Dr. Robert Hartman, CEO of Classic Caladiums.

Torchy

This variety is currently not in production at Classic Caladiums, LLC
Hot Pink to Red leaves with green margins. Short habit.

Twist N Shout

This variety is currently NOT in production at Classic Caladiums, LLC
Twist and Shout™, a fancy-leaf variety with a burnt orange background and olive spots and leaf margin, represents a new color for caladiums. Suited for pots 6” and larger, Twist and Shout should be de-eyed to improve pot habit. In the landscape it can take full sun and reaches heights of 18”+. As plants mature, leaves will show darker.

Victoria

This variety is currently NOT in production at Classic Caladiums, LLC
Victoria, a strap caladium with a highly ruffled margin and deep rose color, is a tissue culture sport of the lance-leaf (strap) variety Sweetheart. Victoria is suited for all pot sizes and produces good habit without de-eying. Victoria makes an outstanding basket variety and performs well in full sun to partial shade. In the landscape Victoria can take full sun though happy in partial shade and reaches heights of 12″-18″, thus it can be used in the foreground or as a border plant. This caladium variety was developed by Dr. Robert Hartman, CEO of Classic Caladiums.

Colocasia Esculenta

    Great landscape plants, these are very popular bulbs. Look for huge leaves and very tall plants. Colocasia Elephant ears tend to point downward. Not all that hard to plant, our elephant ears will grow very well in the northern tier of states. Prefer regular watering. Esculenta has a selection of bulb sizes from 5″ to 11″ circumference bulbs. Availability can vary season to season on bulbs.

    Available in our finished tropical program in 1 and 2 gallon pots.

Garden White

Garden White caladiums are not currently in production at Classic Caladiums, LLC.
Garden White fancy caladiums have creamy white leaves in the center and pronounced green netting as you go out to the borders which are rimmed in dark green. Lightly frilly leaves are translucent, thin and may average 8″-10″ tall when mature. Enjoy in the sun or partial shade. Garden White is a vigorous fast growing caladium (24″-36″tall) and makes a great border or potted plant.

Mount Everest

    Developed by Classic CEO, Dr. Robert Hartman, Mount Everest is on the tall side for a strap caladium. Deep pink main veins highlight a white center with green blotches in the panes between the veins.

    You will find Mount Everest caladiums in both our pre-finished and finished caladium programs.

Red Hot™

    Red Hot™ strap caladiums are excellent for borders and containers. A University of Florida patented caladium.

    You will find Red Hot™ caladiums in both our pre-finished and finished caladium programs.

Hot 2 Trot

Hot 2 Trot will be co-branded with Proven Winners as of July 1st, 2021 and available as such for the spring 2023 shipping season.

    Heart to Heart™ Hot 2 Trot is a unique strap leaf variety having very shiny young leaves with bright red centers and contrasting green margins. Later emerging leaves may be less glossy. Hot 2 Trot has an attractive short to intermediate growth habit and is wider than it is tall, can tolerate 8 hours of sun. Another caladium from Classic CEO, Dr. Robert Hartman’s breeding program. All bulbs are de-eyed and painted.
