White Queen caladiums are a hybrid developed by one of the pioneers of caladium breeding, F. M. Joyner – a postman in Tampa FL. White Queen is creamy white with green netted venation and dark red main central veins – very popular with consumers. Dominant eye removal is a must to control height. Makes a very nice pot plant but must be spaced to combat height. No. 1 or 2 size bulbs work equally well, but the larger size tends to have a whiter color. This is a great planter, basket & pot caladium – large leaves and distinctive pattern are real eye-catchers. White Queen is typically called ‘Pink Queen” in the industry as it tends to show pink as it grows due to light, soil and watering conditions.
You will find White Queen caladiums in both our pre-finished and finished caladium programs.
Allow 7-9 week crop time in southern zones, recommend de-eying for pots.
Recommended bulbs per pot: 6″ (2.5qt) pots: 2-#1 bulbs, or 4-#2 bulbs 8″ (1.75 Gal) pots: 4-#1, or 8-#2 bulbs 12″ pot: 5-#1 or 10-#2 bulbs
