This variety is currentlyn production at Classic Caladiums, LLC
Peppermint is a strap (lance) leaved variety.  As its namesake, Peppermint would remind you of a candy cane with dark rose red laminar areas and broad white veins, making it truly unique among strap varieties.  The most striking peppermint pattern occurs on mature foliage.   Immature foliage, such as what you get when you de-eye it, is largely white with rose red blotches.  Peppermint is useful in 4” pots and up but should be de-eyed for smaller pot sizes.  Peppermint also makes an interesting hanging basket.  Mature leaves of Peppermint can burn in full sun in the south therefore should be planted in semi to shady areas in the landscape in the Southeast US.  Peppermint is an intermediate size strap variety. This caladium variety was developed by Dr. Robert Hartman, CEO of Classic Caladiums.
