These plants ate found in
tropical locations world-wide, Many of the
varieties have edible stems or corms. The
plants are cousins of the caladiums although
much larger and without the colorful leaves.
There are two basic varieties:
Alocasia - (pictured)
where the leaves point up
Colocasia - where the
leaves tend to droop
